Thermal Ablation and Central Venous Catheters
Methods such as microwave ablation are used to destroy tumour tissue directly through the skin. The main indications are small liver tumours and metastases; in selected patients at high surgical risk, ablation may also be discussed for small kidney tumours. PICC lines and implantable port systems are placed to make oncological treatment easier to deliver.
