Pacemaker and Defibrillator Implantation
In symptomatic bradycardia, conduction block or a high-risk rhythm disorder, device therapy — a pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) — may be needed in selected cases. The decision is made by the arrhythmologist based on the type of rhythm disorder, the structural condition of the heart and the patient's overall clinical findings.
